Pizza Pizazz

Practicing our "mouse skills" is a lot more fun when we are "making" pizza, right 4K? Great job! 

 

Spring Has Sprung...Sort of

The arrival of Spring at PDS usually means Spring Break, warmer recesses, Easter, and the District and Overall State Art competitions. So of course that also means things have been super busy in the Art room! I'm thrilled to announce that PDS had 19 first place winners and 10 second place winners at District. First place artworks advanced to Overall State in Pearl, MS, where PDS students won 3 firsts and 3 seconds!  I am so very proud of these students, and will be posting pictures soon!

So They Huffed and They Puffed....

No little pigs, no big bad wolf....but there there HAVE been a lot of Sixth graders huffing and puffing in the art room lately! Painting with straws was so much fun!

Snow Birds

The groundhog saw his shadow so more winter weather might be headed our way! When and IF more snow and ice arrive, I doubt you will see any wintry sights more beautiful than these paintings by our Fourth graders! Aren't they lovely?

Fifth Grade Blockbusters

Fifth grade really rose to the challenge on this 3-D block project! Here are a few pictures of the works in progress. I can't wait to show you the final results! They are truly " blockbusters!"

December Doings

I just wanted to share more pictures of our last few December days. Christmas was definitely the main topic of conversation in both the Art room AND the Computer lab so what better way to capitalize on their excitement than to have December themed projects!  From "decorating" trees to making ornaments our students' smiles are sure to show their Christmas spirit!

 

Art and Computer Meet

Sometimes a computer class assignment offers the perfect opportunity for the students to tap into their creative side. Recently our kindergarten students sharpened their mouse skills to create art in the style of Piet Mondrian. Here are a few of their masterpieces! Aren't they great?
