A Child's Dream...A Christmas Tradition

Every few years the Junior Auxiliary sponsors an art contest in conjunction with their production of A Child's Dream, a beautiful rendition of The Nutcracker. This year PDS was well represented with many entries, and five of our students placed in the competition. Grand Prize Winner Shelby Stillions' artwork was featured on the ballet's t-shirt design as well as the program cover.

The program also featured artworks by Diya Patel, Logan Cutts, Breland Sledge and Kailyn Byas. PDS art students rock! Congratulations to all!

Thanks to Sonya Burchfield for taking these photos at the night performance for us!

The 4th grade had fun creating a word search using the First grade spelling words. They were so excited to deliver them to Mrs. Berryhill and Mrs. Roberts classes.

What do you get when you put two pinch pots and a child's creativity together? These adorable bobbleheads that's what! This has got to be one of my all time favorite pottery projects EVER! And I think the Sixth Graders nailed it, don't you?

Many, Many Thanks!

Our PDS Class of 2018 Sixth Grade graduates would like to thank the Crosstie Arts Council for awarding our school a mini-grant for our final project. The Council's generosity not only provided art supplies, but gave our sixth graders the opportunity to explore painting on canvas as they made a special reminder of their years at PDS. Didn't they do a beautiful job?

Thank you, Crosstie Arts Council!!!!!

Eagles' Flight Fun

What fun Hudson and I had during this year's Eagles' Flight Pottery sessions! Not only did he hone his clay skills, but he took home some awesome baseball wind chimes, a gorgeous ceramic box, an adorable bobblehead pup, and even a couple of cool pendants! Thanks, Candice Fioranelli and Hudson for supporting PDS through our Eagles' Flight auction!

Fish Tale

Oops! I forgot to take pictures of most of the Sixth graders' pottery fish before letting the kids take them home, but here are a couple that haven't left their "school". They are certainly a prize catch!
